In my opinion this is the number 1 selling point of Prism+ Aircon, the Prism Warranty. It gives out a 8 years warranty terms of their Aircon. That is entirely unprecedented. Even though, this is supposed to be a reason why you should be getting Prism+ Aircon. I would still like to throw caution to the wind. Prism+ has been around for 5 years only. And it is giving out Aircon warranty for 8 years now. While that is not illogical, but really? Do you have faith that it can last that long? Honestly, only time will tell. Secondly, you only enjoy 8 years warranty if you were to sign up with them on contract servicing. If not, you probably won’t enjoy such a long warranty term.
This means that, any point of time, during their contact service. If they were to say that your Aircon is dirty and is in need of a chemical overhaul, you will have to listen to them. If they say your Aircon gas is low and has to top up, you will have to listen to them. In other word, you are in entire control by them. You will not be able to find another neutral party and there will not be other Aircon companies that can advice you otherwise you may breach their warranty terms.
Furthermore, you may have to dig deep on what does the 8 years cover? It is a standard practice for all Aircon brands in Singapore to cover 5-6 years of Aircon warranty for compressor. However, if your compressor were to malfunction. It may cost you up to $800+ to replace the compressor. While I understand that the labor work to replace the compressor in incredibly tedious As a consumer, you may not fully understand what does the warranty entails.

As mentioned earlier, they have only been around for 5 years. You don’t know if their company is profitable. Or are they riding on the wave of expanding their company through investments. Which means they may be losing money every year but yet expanding rapidly through finding bigger and bigger investors every year. While I’m not a financial guru and i can’t say if this form of business model is viable or not. But if you are basing your purchase based on an 8 year warranty term for their Aircon. Then the first thing you have to think about is how long can their company last. And how valid will your warranty be.
Their products are OEM from abroad.
While this may not be an issue. In fact this may even be better than them manufacturing their own products considering they are just a 5 years company. During pandemics time, they will not be able to visit their overseas factory. And they will have no ways to do quality control over their product. So my guess is, it’s simply gonna be a. I order from that factory, market here in Singapore and sell it to you kind of thing. While they have awesome marketing skills undeniably. How much of it is based on real substance? They need to have longer years of track record to be able to prove that.
Only a handful contractors knows how to repair Prism+ Aircon
Well, it has only been around awhile. Not many might know how to repair Prism+ Aircon. However, their model of business tries to keep you in their eco system of products. Which means they will be able to charge you a big sum of money should you want to repair their products in the future.
Long waiting time
Currently, there is a long waiting period to get a prism+ Aircon installed. In Singapore’s hot weather, that may not be very viable. Hence you may be better off getting a more reliable brand.

In conclusion, my take on Prism+ Aircon is. Do not choose this brand first. Wait on and hear the reviews from other customers after a few years. If it is of substance, your friends will recommend to you. For now, it may be wiser not to take on the “first mover advantage”. We strongly believe there is no advantage in that, especially in choosing a company that has only been around for a few years.
